The Waroona Community Precinct revitalizes rural Waroona, Western Australia, transforming 11,500sqm of underutilised land into a vibrant hub with extensive community involvement. It fosters social cohesion, cultural preservation, and economic growth. It repurposes buildings and features green spaces, recreational facilities, innovative playgrounds, historical interpretation, and recreation elements, enhancing community life and tourism.
This Project includes:
- 7,650sqm green space in the town centre.
- 5,700sqm event and open park areas including informal tiered seating.
- Playground with multiple components catering for a range of ages and capabilities.
- Nature play equipment including balancing beams, rocky river, timber bridges.
- 954sqm skate park with large footprint flow bowl and street section with unique obstacles catering to all skill levels.
- 256sqm pump track with humps and berms.
- 182sqm multi-purpose pavilion with openings to the east and west to act as a stage for major events and also cater for smaller undercover functions and events.
- Park amenities including two shade shelters, four rubbish bin enclosures, one drinking fountain, two picnic table settings and ablutions building.
- 1,466sqm plantings/landscaped area including 6 seasons native plants.
- Upgrade of Fouracre Street to create low speed environment and additional functionality within the Precinct.
- Facilities and amenity for tourists / visitors including rest areas, RV parking.
- RV Parking on Fouracre Street for three long towing vehicles.
- Pedestrian pathway linkages to retail space and RV parking.
- Signage / way finding to the Precinct and Fouracre Street.
- Art installations in consultation with local artists with allowance for future art projects.
