Golden Bay Play Areas

A common feature through all of Golden Bay’s parks are the unique and diverse play spaces.

The Stage 2 play space features a series of towers overlooking the vast sports oval, which provide a challenge for older children through a range of climbing elements. The towers are surrounded by interconnected colourful nature-style play elements including ship ropes, tractor tyres and tree logs and acoustic play, and a large tunnel slide. The towers form a sculptural land mark visible from Warnbro Sound Avenue.

The Stage 3 Park includes a central play space linked with a large picnic shelter and a basketball half court. The play equipment includes a range of contemporary elements as well as a rubber softfall embankment with a unique tubular sliding frame which spills out onto green open lawn space with footy goals.

The Stage 4 ‘Sunset Hill’ park is located in a key, elevated position with ocean views. An area of retained bush on the sheltered side of the park provides the setting for a true nature-play space that features custom timber and rope climbing elements, cocoon huts, a tree hut with slide and a double flying fox. A sunken lawn with picnic shelters and BBQs sits adjacent to the nature play space, taking advantage of the sheltered position which is extremely popular with residents on hot and windy summer afternoons.
