EPCΛD were appointed by the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder to assist in the revitalisation of the Roberts Street Community Precinct. The existing site contained the City’s library, community buildings, specialised care centre and a Men in Sheds facility. EPCΛD were tasked with creating a landscape masterplan for the site creating a cohesive community precinct with differing levels of amenity from children’s play, active spaces for ball games, a community garden and shaded paths and walkways connecting the various buildings. The heritage values of the site as the original Kalgoorlie cricket club were also reflected in the design and layout and interpretation provided. Once the masterplan had been through a public consultation process EPCΛD then carried out the detailed design, documentation and contract administration of all stages of the works. The project has been a huge success and has given Kalgoorlie an enhanced community public outdoor facility.
