Located in the heart of Subiaco’s commercial precinct Subi Strand is a mixed use development combining a landscaped pedestrian laneway with retail and commercial tenancies linking Hood Street and Roydhouse Street. The development also offers office space and apartment living.
EPCΛD were appointed during the early planning stages to development the landscape concepts and approach. Drawings were then produced to achieve development approval. Once all relevant approvals were in place full detailed documentation drawings for the hard and soft landscape of all external spaces were produced by EPCΛD.
The laneway is the heart of the development forming the central spine. An elevated pedestrian bridge then links the buildings at 2nd floor level. Getting the pedestrian scale and special layout of this space was crucial for the success of the retail and place creation. EPCΛD worked closely with the appointed Public Artist Stuart Green to ensure the lighting array suspended above the space tied seamlessly with the ground plane design.
