As the Wellard Project Landscape Architects, EPCΛD had already been responsible for the organisation and project management of Stage 1 of the Wellard Public Art Project. This involved the sourcing and installation of $500,000 worth of public art throughout the initial stages of the estate.
For Stage 2, Peet appointed EPCΛD directly to develop a public art piece concept. Based on strong themes put forward by the community EPCΛD developed a ‘Banksia Leaf’ art piece. Working with specialist steel fabricators Living Iron, EPCΛD developed the concept, design drawings and managed the fabrication and installation of this very popular piece of Public Art.
