Central to the initial development stages of Heron Park this POS was identified as a key location for the provision of a large scale play facility to cater for all ages. Careful planning of the POS location by EPCΛD and the project team ensured it was sited over a large stand of existing native trees forming the perfect naturally shaded setting for a playground.
In close partnership with our client Satterley property Group EPCΛD developed a concept for an adventure play area that nestles beneath and around the existing trees. The play area is a combination of bespoke designed nature play equipment and high quality off the shelf items such as a Flying Fox and a Tree House.
Barbecues and picnic tables encourage family gatherings for surveillance of younger children. The play area has been extremely successful with its combination of play equipment, open grassed areas for active play and the retained trees and vegetation set on a stream running through the site. It is a popular site in the areas drawing not just local residents but children and parents from farther afield.
