The expansion of Kwinana through a stand-alone “town” focused on a new railway station has been an outstanding success. The community will ultimately be home to 7,500 residents enjoying a walkable quality parkland network and EPCAD has been the project Landscape Architects for this new Transit Orientated Development since the project started and responsible for all aspects of open space and public realm delivery. EPCADs understanding of Placemaking has been especially valuable creating flexible spaces that accommodate and promote diverse uses resulting in markets and community groups rapidly adopting the newly created spaces. The project has achieved recognition as one of the most successful urban developments in Western Australia and has received many awards.
